LAWSUIT UPDATE:

The Supreme Court of British Columbia has made its ruling on our Class Action Lawsuit. The judgement is 23 pages and is somewhat complex; however to quote part of the last section “Accordingly, the action is dismissed” says it all. In other words, The Honourable Madam Justice Dorgan has ruled in favour of the Province of British Columbia.

What’s next?? We have set up a conference call with our lawyers on Wednesday October 7th to discuss the merits of an appeal. Until then no decision will be made as to the next step to take.

We will then make a full report at our Annual General Meeting on October 14th, 2009, including advice from our legal team.

I suggest that everyone wait until the week following the AGM to ask your Branch Chair for more details.
